Michael Jackson movies are spread out over several years. While he loved being in movies and becoming someone else, he focused mostly on his singing career. Most people who worked with him said that he was a professional and a joy to work with. It was said that he was very serious about the movies that he did. He was a supporting role in lots of movies but he really enjoyed taking on the lead roles.  If time would have allowed it he would have been in more movies. The video for “Thriller” was his favorite because he got to act some in the beginning.

The Wiz featured an all black cast with Jackson as the Scarecrow. Some other famous faces in the 1978 remake included Richard Pryor as the Wiz, and Dianna Ross as Dorothy. The critics loved Jackson as the Scarecrow and the movie got rave reviews.

The movie was reopened in 2010 as a tribute after Jackson’s death.  The next movie that Michael Jackson was in was called Moon Walker. Moon Walker was a 1988 film about good triumphing over evil and this was accomplished through song and dance numbers. Joe Pesci was just one big time actor who played in the second of Michael Jackson movies. A short film that Michael Jackson wrote with Stephen King was released in 1996 and was one of the strangest of Michael Jackson movies that had been made. Jackson played several different characters in the film, which featured lots of dancing and special effects. He had amazing makeup throughout the film making some of his characters completely take over.

Michael Jackson the movie was released after his untimely death in 2009, which movie was entitled Michael Jackson This Is It movie. The movie followed Jackson behind the scenes as he rehearsed for his comeback tour and prepared for over 20 shows. The behind the scenes look at the private singer’s life was a gift for the thousands of fans that still followed his career loyally.
